Except Simon, who is not doing a good impersonation of a heterosexual

Oh, Adam Hughes, why can't I quit you?

He will say the most obnoxious things, but I do love his art.

This image, here is, yes, saved on his server as DC_babes.jpg, and does, as always, look rather boobtastic, but guys. GUYS. Peej's boob window in a context where it makes sense.

And then, even more wonderfully, the crew of firefly, as you've never before seen them: happy. And nobody even looks boobified. River looks flat chested.

Spam in a link-type form

So, if you're not into comics, I'm not sure I can convey the ridiculousness and surpassing beauty of Rob Liefeld criticizing Alan Moore for being a diva. But if you show the vaguest signs of interest, I'll be happy to attempt it. At length. For everyone else: Dinosaur comic-form. (src)

Why didn't anyone tell me that Whedon had an awesome webcomic? I could have requested it for yuletide! You're all fired. It's got girls and robots, and reads like Whedon wrote it after a 72 hour Invader Zim marathon. Oh, and the art's by Fabio Moon.

This week in gay!

Oh, Comics.

First, DC releases this preview cover, and so mild as to hardly be a spoiler ) Thank you, DC, for helping me cross another fanfic cliche appearing in comics off my list. Best part: Read more... )

Then, Marvel, feeling that they are falling behind in homoerotic subtext, releases this fabulous statement.

I eagerly await DC's press release about a story-line featuring Bruce Wayne as "a Liberace-like party animal."

I blame the... lack of. Thing. Brain. thing.

Guys, reading this thread has made me SO FOND of fanboys! SO FOND. On page twenty two one of them asks, "So, Cass vs. Boba Fett?" and I just went "n'awwww!"

Of course, there's another fifty pages of the thread, so they still have plenty of time to redeem themselves. Maybe I should stop now.

Pimp me

I've kind of been on sabbatical from comics. Not from fandom, but every time I read a comic I came out feeling depressed, stupider, angry, or just... whatever. I wanted to know what was happening the characters I cared about, but I'd open the comic and it'd be about some other character with the same name. Feh.

So. Pretend I haven't read anything since Infinite Crisis. Without spoilers, what should I read that will make me go, hey, I like comics?
