If you, like me, have a computer manufactured during the period when hamsterdance was new and annoying, rather than old and annoying, you may have problems with firefox getting slow and/or slowing your entire machine, if it's left open too long. The advice often given for this is to disable your extensions (which take up memory), or open fewer tabs (which take up memory). However, if, like me, you think the entire point of firefox is tabs and extensions, you may find this advice unhelpful and annoying. If you have less than a GB of RAM1 the following may be useful to you.

I've messed around with my chrome and menu customizations enough that Firefox 3.0 is a lot like Firefox 2.x was, with a couple of extensions that are lagging behind in compatbility. But Firefox keeps signing me out of lj. And the girl-wonder forums. And del.icio.us. And every frickin' site I use cookies to stay logged in to. Is this happening to anyone else, or is one of the extensions I'm using more buggy than I thought? What do you mean window.location.host includes the subdomain?!?
I once was not so suck at javascript! But with much cussing, I've gotten lj instant tag to work on other lj clones. It's quite a nice script and much handier than lj's default method of allowing tagging, IMHO, so here it is with my changes Copy/paste into a text file, save as "instant_tag.js" with quotes, and open in your browser to install with greasemonkey.
