Announcement!

I have invented, or possibly re-invented, a tremendous recipe for carrots.

Carrot Surprise

  • Carrots, as many as you want to eat
  • Garlic, to taste
  • Lime, maybe a half, or a quarter
  • Oil, suitable for frying, some small amount

Grate the carrots coarsely, and saute them with the oil until the carrot is warm. Smush up the garlic, and stick it in, too. When everything smell delicious, squeeze the lime over it. Eat.

You can also put in ginger, but I'm not sure if you can put in with the lime. I usually put it in instead. It's nicer with a sweeter carrot. Mmmm, carrots.

Someone should write a comic book about the Onion Oversight Authority and their adventures

I am a fan of doing things the right way, because often, when you discover the right way of doing a thing, the thing suddenly becomes a million times easier and you feel very dumb about not doing it that way all along. However, apparently this is the right way of cutting an onion. This does not work for me at all. My way, cutting slices perpendicular to the axis, and then stacking several of them and cutting two sets of parallel lines at 90° to each other isn't perfect, but it seems easier to me than this method which seems to require me to cut off all my fingers.

Do other people have a better method? Does the correct method as chosen by the Onion Oversight Authority work for you, and I'm the only one who can't do it?

Anywho, to give context: Rice/Lentil thingy )
